Paris won’t be complete without visiting the iconic sites… and shopping!
Early in the morning, we found ourselves walking along the Pont de Bir-Hakeim, a familiar bridge for those who have watched Inception. Be careful taking photos for cyclists don’t have mercy! This is coming from a girl who almost got run over by one (and unfortunately, got told off by a cop to stay on the side). (more…)
Our second day in France, we woke up to a breakfast of jam and bread – a staple in every French household. I suddenly missed my Filipino rice meal, but when in Paris… Right?
After freezing in the castle grounds of Chantilly the day before, I was ready to brave the cold and wore the thickest jacket I had. Weather seemed to have turned in our favor though, and the sun was shining throughout the day – a perfect time to walk around Paris. (more…)
One place you can’t miss visiting in France is the Louvre, and trust me when I say that this trip needs a whole lot of preparation. The Louvre is massive! It houses more than 50 thousand art works… FIFTY THOUSAND! You definitely can’t see everything in one go so I took it upon myself to list down my top ten must see in the museum (and no, the Mona Lisa is not one of them).
While I don’t blame you for filling your luggage with miniature Eiffel Towers or the delicate Ladurée macarons, don’t discount this list of Parisian mementos. They are a little expensive but will be wonderful gifts for special people in your life. (more…)
When you have a crazy itinerary like my sister and I, there’s nothing more rewarding than resting your tired feet in a café and sipping a delicate cappuccino. Although, I’ve been told that Parisians do not really drink cappuccinos (most preferring a strong espresso). I don’t understand why because cappuccinos in Paris are amaaaazing! With their chocolaty taste, it warms my heart up like listening to Oh Wonder singing Midnight Moon.
While my sister has been to Paris a lot of times, owing to the fact that her husband is French, we discovered these cafés purely by chance. I guess there are many secrets in Paris that even a seasoned Paris traveler or Parisian have not uncovered yet.
Going back to the task at hand… Here are the four cafés in Paris worth visiting! (more…)
With virtually no good spaces to chill out in the sun in Manila (because of the intense heat), I decided to milk the opportunity in Europe – chilling by the Eiffel Tower in Champs de Mars, walking around Parc du Buttes-Chaumont, having lunch on the patio of Dame Tartine.
The sun was like the ultimate energy generator. So… when my sister saw this blog post by Out and About sharing her experience with Pink Flamingo Pizza, we just knew we had to try it! (more…)
A stretch of grounds where crème Chantilly is incorrectly credited to have been invented, Château de Chantilly, though not as popular, has as much history as the imposing Versailles. Located in the north of Paris, the château is home to three Raphael paintings (the only other place known in France to have the others is the Louvre), a 186 meter long stable and perfectly manicured gardens. (more…)
Being unemployed (broke) and going back to school can dampen everyone’s travel plans. Life sometimes gets in the way of adventure. I promised myself this year that I’ll save up enough money to travel to three new cities in 2017, preferably: London, Paris and Rome. I chose these places because they’re vastly different from each other plus they have been the settings for a lot of my favorite books. (more…)
